BSIS BASIC FIREARMS COURSE
CALIFORNIA - ONLY
16 Hours
College of the Sequoias, Visalia

Description:

This course will cover the moral and legal aspects of firearms, firearm safety, firearms nomenclature, and practical shooting. This course is for security guards and civilians and meets the requirements for the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services and Concealed Weapons Permits.

Note:  You must be 18 or older in order to take this class

Cost: $150 per person (first time) or $40 for re-qualifiers

From Hwy 198W take Plaza Dr. Exit (Rd 80);  Going North, Turn left(west) on Ave 328;  Range approx 3/4 mi. on right

    Time and Location:

    • 8 am - 5 pm Saturday, Visalia PD Gun Range 7400 Ave 328, Visalia,CA

Supplies students will need to bring
For Tuesday/Thursday class: Bring paper and pen for note taking

For the Gun Range (Saturday class):

    • Your firearm, holster, and 150 rounds of ammunition (NO reloaded materials allowed).  
      Note:  When transporting, the firearm and the ammunition must be located in different areas of the car, aka: NOT TOGETHER. 
    • Eye and ear protection.
    • Lunch and drinks for the day.

This class is designed to fulfill the requirements of B.S.I.S. for California Security Guards to obtain a firearms card and for civilians who want to learn how to operate and carry a concealable firearm.

This class is held at C.O.S. twice each semester and once during summer school.

Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW)
Firearm Safety Class
4 Hours

Description:
 A one-day, four-hour class required by the Department of Justice in order to apply for a CCW Permit, or to renew your CCW Permit

Cost: $40

    UTAH & FLORIDA CCW Classes
    (30 State CCW Class)
    4 Hours
    Exteter Veterans Memorial

    Description:

    This class is designed to meet the requirements of the state of Utah and the state of Florida for Non-Resident CCW Permits. You must be a citizen of the United States or legal resident to take this class. You also must be 21 years of age. These permits allow you to carry a concealable firearm in up to 32 states, but not California. You must have a California CCW Permit to carry in California.

    Cost: $110 plus $10.00 for the notary
